Are You Building On The Foundation Of Righteousness?

“But about the Son he says, ‘Your throne, O God will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.’”
Hebrews 1: 8

Jesus is a perfect example of one who walked in righteousness. He came down to planet earth to show us how to live the righteous life that God desires for every one of His children. As God’s child, you are to imitate Jesus in every way.

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you.”
~Psalm 89: 14

Righteousness is the foundation of God’s throne; it is the scepter of God’s kingdom. In other words, God’s authority is based on righteousness; He rules by righteousness. He doesn’t rule with threats. He doesn’t rule with sentiments. He doesn’t rule with “stick and carrots” as they say in management. He rules with righteousness, the scepter of His kingdom.

Are you, like God, building on the foundation of righteousness?

One of the reasons that the throne of Jesus Christ continues to endure is because it is founded on righteousness. Anything you build in this world that is not built on the foundation of righteousness will collapse. It will never stand. No matter how big it is, if it is not founded on righteousness, it will ultimately collapse. It is important that you understand this principle as you go through life. Apply it to every facet of your life, and you will leave an enduring legacy.

Memory Verse:
Hebrews 1: 8
“But about the Son he says, ‘Your throne, O God will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.’”

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you for being a model of God’s righteousness. Strengthen me Lord, to walk in righteousness and holiness just like you did while on earth, in Jesus’ mighty name.
Amen.
