The Festival of Home Churches 2010 has come and gone but the memory lingers on. It was truly an unforgettable experience for us at the Excellence Home Church and this week’s meeting found us musing at our pains and gains.
We were really stretched during the preparations especially in the area of fine-tuning our talents to reflect our slogan which is excellence…our lifestyle. It was really a time to grow for us.
Our bible study discussion assumed a prophetic dimension as we realized that God was calling us to increase and expansion in every area of our life. A time to grow.
We analyzed the miracle that took place at the feeding of the five thousand by Jesus [Full story=> Luke 9:10-17].
One of us commented that Jesus had to work with something, in this case, five loaves and two fishes supplied by a little boy in their midst. She further buttressed her point by alluding to the mathematical law that anything multiplied by zero is equal to zero. In other words, knowing that there must be something for God to multiply in our lives, we have to pay attention to what we have. A time to grow.
We rounded off our discussion with this prophecy in Isaiah 54: 2-3
Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide,
Do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.
For you will spread out to the right and to the left,
Your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate places.
God bless you!
