A lot of people are blind to the possibilities of what is already in their hands. So, they continue to wallow in ingratitude—and, consequently, in lack and defeat.
Moses thought he had a shepherd’s stick. But when He dropped it on the ground in obedience to the Lord, he found out different. The stick became a serpent. So real was this snake that Moses fled from it.
Exodus 4:2-3 NIV
[2] Then the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied. [3] The Lord said, “Throw it on the ground.” Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it.
Through his encounter with God on Mount Sinai, he realized the true power of that stick. As a result, he went on to deliver three million people from bondage using a ‘mere stick’.
What’s that in your hand? What do you have already, right now, with you? Your children. Your spouse. Your job. Your business. Your ministry…
If you answered any of the following, you’re very wrong.
The truth is that you really have no idea what you have in your hand. Like Moses, you think it’s a mere shepherd’s stick. But wait till you drop it at the Lord’s command.
Then a mere shepherd’s stick becomes a snake, and ultimately a force that births a powerful brand new nation.
The stick you have is not the issue. What matters is the snake the Lord can make of it, and all the other phenomenal things He can use it to do.
And so what really matters it that you appreciate what you have and give thanks to the Lord. Then watch and see what He makes of it.
