One of the vital areas to focus on in your daily morning devotion is intercession. After you must have prayed for yourself and asked God for His help in certain important areas of your life, you should pray for others. Go a little more outward in your daily morning prayers and intercede for others, especially members of your family.
“They replied, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved –you and your household.’”
~Acts 16: 31
Spend time and pray for the salvation of your family members. If there are people in your family that are not saved, it ought to matter to you. Pray for their salvation; pray for their welfare; and pray for peace in your family. No matter how spiritual you are, if your family is not where they should be, it will distract you. Daily intercede for them in your morning devotion, and ask God to extend the same grace of salvation to them, if they are not yet saved.
By the time, in your morning devotion, you’ve prayed for yourself and interceded for your family members, your morning would have been far spent. But you will come out energized with the strength that only God can give you. Like Jesus, our role model, you will be better able to surmount the challenges on your path to greatness.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for Him, and when they found Him, they exclaimed: ‘Everyone is looking for you!’ Jesus replied, ‘Let us go somewhere else to the nearby villages so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.’”
