From Places Of Worship, To Persons Of Worship

“Sir,” the woman said, “you must be a prophet. So tell me, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim, where our ancestors worshiped?” ~John 4:19-20 NLT

Once upon a time, thousands of years ago, people used to go to places in order to seek God.

At these places there were gatekeepers known as priests. They  stood between God and the people. They told God what the people wanted. And then told the people what God wanted.

One day, however, everything changed!

Jesus replied, “Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem. ~ John 4:21 NLT

God Himself became one of the people and came down among them. He made an arrangement to remove the go-betweens so He could relate directly with the people. He put His Spirit in the people and the people became places of worship.

But the time is coming-indeed it’s here now-when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” ~John 4:23-24 NLT

And that is why today, we no longer have places of worship. We now have people of worship.

Unfortunately, though, most of the people still go to places. And this is sad. So sad.

Yet, all hope is not lost!
Something is about to happen.
In you.
Will you let it?

  1. I am absolutely willing to be God’s Tabernacle. I long to dwell in His presence in communion. As much as it lies with me,I surrender all to Him that He may have His way in, and through me.
    So help me God!

    1. The Holy Spirit Himself is your Helper. Blessed are those that hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they will be filled. You’re certainly one of them.

  2. Hallelujah. I choose to be a worshipper of God. Praising and worshipping in the spirit. A intimate relationship with the Holy spirit.
I thirst for you Lord, fill me

  3. Thank you sir, this message is directly to me. I have been having the gift of prophecy and sometime this January I declare a word and it came to pass. My mind is telling me I have the gift but its not yet stared up. Please I need the impartation of the gift of prophecy .

    1. I believe what you need, rather, is a more intimate and clear personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. Rather than the gift, let us seek the Giver Himself.

  4. What a wonderful reminder. When I think of this, this early morning, I see we the modern day Christians here. There’s more reverence for places of worship than He who is worshipped and consequently, there’s no regard for the body which should be the real temple, the real place of worship. We give nonregard to the temple what we think ,our desires and our hearts are in total conformity to the world from Monday to Sunday .Until we go to the revered places of worship. There we wear a form of godliness that is shed immediately after .I want to be a place of worship

  5. Sure my revren u are right good is spirit and who so ever that worship him must do that the same way but but my question is how can one knows that he or she is worshiping God in truth and in spirit. Cause that’s what I desire most
